"I am Mom Unplugged, a mother of three children, ages 2, 6, and 8 (and way too many pets). We have no TV, no video games, and no loud toys. Please join me as I attempt to make sense of this crazy life we lead. I promise to dispense plenty of unasked-for advice along the way, as I swim upstream in our increasingly technological world, struggling not to drown!"

Cub Scout Badge Recalled- Lead Paint

Cub Scouts Totem Badges have been recalled because: “The surface paints on the badges contain excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.”

The badges are manufactured by Kahoot Products. Parents are instructed to remove badges from uniform and keep away from children. The company will offer a free replacement badge.

For more details on this recall, please refer to the CPSC press release.

I was relieved to read that the reason for the recall of the Starbuck’s cups didn’t have anything to do with lead! CJ started drinking out of a cup and we use the turtle and ladybug cups w/o the lids. She’s dropped them on our tile floor and the faces haven’t come off, and even if they did, she’s strapped into her booster seat. Whew!
