"I am Mom Unplugged, a mother of three children, ages 2, 6, and 8 (and way too many pets). We have no TV, no video games, and no loud toys. Please join me as I attempt to make sense of this crazy life we lead. I promise to dispense plenty of unasked-for advice along the way, as I swim upstream in our increasingly technological world, struggling not to drown!"

Spring has (not) Sprung

What is happening with our weather? A few weeks ago we had some glorious warmth that made the bulbs begin to sprout and put a smile on the face and a spring in the step. Then suddenly, literally overnight, the temperature dropped about 30 degrees and it became cold again.

This morning, after a restless night spent listening to a loud coyote party in my backyard, I awoke to…a dusting of snow! What? Where did spring go? Big sigh.

Sorry for the dull meteorological post, but I just needed to vent.

Thanks to morguefile.com and photographer George Bosela for this fitting photo.

I love that picture! It reminds me that I have tulips…somewhere…under all the snow…

Not sure where you live, but for my family in PA it has been a looooong winter. I feel a bit guilty when I call- here in Oregon we are well into Spring. But, I remember those winters in PA- winters that seemed so cruel to me- winters that let Spring sneak in enough to almost let the Lilacs blooms and then- BAM!- ice storm to freeze the blossoms. It used to make me feel a bit wacky.

Oh, I know just how you feel. Last week, after having temps in the 60s and 70s, we were in a Winter Storm Warning and it got COLD. Hang in there- I’ll bet it will warm up for you soon just like it did here.
