Leisurely or Lickety-Split?

If my blog is slower than my kids, then it is definitely time for a remodel since NOTHING ON THIS EARTH could be slower than my kids in the morning when we are late for school. The half-life of Uranium is shorter than the time it seems to take them to brush their teeth sometimes.
I have been meaning to take a little, informal poll of those who read my blog:
Do you find it slow to load?
Obviously slow is a relative term that is heavily dependent upon technology and personal endurance, but I have had some complaints. I have recently eliminated quite a few items from my sidebars but I don’t know how much difference this has made.
What is your non-scientific opinion of the speed (or lack thereof) that you experience here?
By the way, I am experimenting with a simple white template which will probably load faster.
